Description
Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity builds homes in Cass and Clay counties. Each home is sold to a partner family at no profit and with no-interest mortgage paid over a 20 to 30 year period. The family's house payments are used to help build more homes. Partner families also contribute "sweat equity" by participating in the construction of their or another family's home. Habitat for Humanity's work is based in Christian teachings, but the organization welcomes people of all beliefs. The other part of the organization is the ReStore, which sells new and gently used building materials. Profits go toward building homes in the community. The ReStore also keeps thousands of pounds of usable building materials out of the landfills.
Habitat for Humanity: building houses, building hope, building the future.
