Description
Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity is located in Rapid City, South Dakota. We work to eliminate poverty housing by partnering volunteers with people in need to build simple, decent affordable homes. BH Area Habitat serves six counties in western South Dakota. We are a non-profit ecumenical Christian organization. We follow a nondiscrimination policy in our family selection process and partner families put in a minimum of 500 sweat equity hours in the building of our homes. When the home is completed, the partner family purchases the home at no profit with a zero interest mortgage. The mortgage payments help build additional houses for other families in need of safe, affordable and decent housing.
