Description

The mission of Growing Home is to provide shelter, affordable housing, meals, and comprehensive assistance to families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, and increase community involvement in direct services and advocacy. The Network includes 27 organizations that together operate the Interfaith Family Shelter, a Homeless Prevention Program (including Direct Housing Assistance and Resource Linkage/Emergency Services), and a Program for Children and Youth. In 2005, these programs directly served over 1,500 different families. In 2005 Growing Home purchased 20-unit rental property in south Westminster which is currently under rehabilitation and upon completion will provide affordable housing for 16 families earning between 30% - 60% of the area median income, and the remaining four units will house families participating in Growing Home’s new Transformational (transitional) Housing program.
