Description
Greer Relief and Resources Agency, Inc. was chartered in 1936 to help neighbors in crisis during the Great Depression.
The Emergency Assistance Program is designed to give in-kind assistance, financial assistance and counseling to the needy. It is our goal to help clients identify their core problem so that we are able to address the issue together rather than simply treating the client's current “need” (food, utilities, rent, etc..).
The J. Verne Smith Human Resource Center, has been a wonderful, successful collaboration between state and local non-profit agencies. Senator J. Verne Smith established the Center with the purpose of providing access to health and human services for the people in the Greater Greer area of Greenville and Spartanburg counties. Since 1991 the J. Verne Smith Center has served the community for job, health, family, disability and emergency services.
