Greenwood Cultural Center - GCC

about

Greenwood Cultural Center (“GCC”), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable, cultural, and educational organizational, is located at 322 North Greenwood Avenue in Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District. Its mission is to preserve African-American heritage and promote positive images of the African-American community by: (i) providing educational and cultural experiences; (ii) promoting intercultural exchange; and (iii) encouraging cultural tourism. In 1999, GCC was named one of America’s “Points of Light.” In October 2008, we receive the 2008 Governor's Art Award. GCC offers a Performing Arts Program which includes: African dance, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap and Martial Arts. We offer a month-long Summer Arts Program in June that serves 90 children each year and a Spring Arts Program during Spring Break of each year. In addition, GCC offers after school programs at Alcott Elementary and Houston Elementary.
