Description
Green Valley High School is a public, suburban school in the Clark County School District, enrolling approximately 2,800 students in grades nine through twelve. The school opened in 1991-92, and the first graduating class was the class of 1992-93. The student body and faculty represent a diversity of ethnic and racial backgrounds. The school has 134 certified professional staff members, most with a master’s degree. Approximately 65% of the graduating seniors will attend college. The Class of 2006 was awarded 6.5 million dollars in scholarships and produced ten National Merit Semifinalists, and at the time of this writing, this year’s senior class has nine National Merit Semifinalists. Newsweek Magazine, academically ranked Green Valley High School 554 out of 38,000 nationally high achieving schools. Additionally, we have a Grammy Award winning performing arts department, and our athletics program has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as #1 in the state of Nevada.
