Description
The mission of GBAPP is to decrease pregnancy and early parenthood in adolescents, and reduce sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS in children, youth, women and men in Bridgeport through direct service delivery including outreach, counseling, prevention education and case management, coordination of services, resource development, and training and advocacy.
Founded in 1980, GBAPP’s major role has been one of program planning, facilitation, coordination, implementation and provision of services. It has worked to establish a vital network of people and organizations to address the complex problem of teen pregnancy and HIV prevention by identifying needs and developing strategies and policies to effect change through established or newly created systems.
The range of programs are offered under 3 major categories: Teen Pregnancy Prevention After-school/Mentoring, HIV Prevention & Care services, and Supportive Housing for homeless pregnant/parenting teen moms.
