Description
Great Plains Assistance Dogs assists physically challenged individuals to gain greater independence and autonomy by use of a trained and certified assistance dog, and to do so without excessive financial burden to those using our program. The focus of our program is human service; the beneficiaries of our program are people. We train dogs for mobility assistance, therapy, emergency medical response, hearing and special needs. Located in Jud, N.D., GPAD welcomes people in need and teaches them to work with a trained canine companion. Many of our dogs are also rescued animals. We are a 501 C 3 organization, receiving no state or federal funding. Insurance does not offset the cost of service animals.
