Description

Literacy, science, math and social studies will always be the core of all we do at Grant. Integrating the curriculum and using thematic units adds meaning to the learning, provides for better use of teaching time and encourages a global approach to learning. The Tacoma arts community works in partnership with the Grant staff to provide students with an enriched approach to the many arts activities available throughout the city.
Grant is the only elementary school in Tacoma where the expressive arts are addressed on a daily basis. Dance, drama, music and the visual arts are used as strategies for teaching the core curriculum. This is our eighth year approaching learning through the arts, collaboration and the multiple intelligences.
