Description
The Grannie Annie Family Story Celebration, a nonprofit organization, invites young people to write a story about something interesting from their family's history and to share their story in their community and with The Grannie Annie. Each year selected stories are published in a paperback book, a PDF book, and on The Grannie Annie website: www.TheGrannieAnnie.org. There is no submission fee; the annual submission deadline is February 1.
Young people who participate have an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and their sense of their own identity, to hone their writing skills, and to deepen their appreciation of history.
The Grannie Annie stories reveal both the uniqueness and the commonality of people's experiences, fostering feelings of unity between people whose lives may seem to be very different from one another.
