The Gordon Square Arts District is a unique collaboration of three nonprofit organizations, Cleveland Public Theatre, Near West Theatre, and Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization to revitalize the Gordon Square at West 65th Street and Detroit Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. With all 4 corner intersection buildings predating WWII, the oldest standing live theatre in Cleveland (the Gordon Square operated by CPT), the 1920's era Capitol Movie Theatre open in October 2009, and a soon-to-be-built performance venue for Near West Theatre, the Gordon Square Arts District is an historic neighborhood on the move! New shops and restaurants are growing and sprouting new investment alongside the already interesting mix of stores, restaurants and galleries- over 25 new businesses have opened in the past 3 years. New, wider sidewalks and improved parking are also Part of the improvements. Be a part of it!
