Founded in 1937, Goodwill is a non-political, non-sectarian, 501 (c) (3) corporation dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities/employment barriers have opportunity to become contributing citizens and taxpayers through full-inclusion in the community’s competitive workforce. The agency was established on the belief that work is central to economic self-sufficiency and the ability to support one’s self and one’s family. We believe that all work has dignity, and work adds to the dignity of individuals and their families. Goodwill’s eight stores provide a means to redistribute usable goods from individual donors to those in need of low or no-cost high-quality household goods, to assess and employ people with disabilities/employment barriers, and to fund 89% of the agency’s annual operating budget. Our service area includes the nine counties of Northeast Indiana—Steuben, LaGrange, DeKalb, Noble, Allen, Whitley, Adams, Wells, and Huntington.
