Founded in 1969, Good Samaritan Ministries was the brainchild of individuals from a variety of churches who collectively recognized growing social needs in the region and felt that the faith community needed to respond. It formed in recognition that the church could better respond to these needs together than individually. The mission of Good Samaritan Ministries is “to mobilize churches for community ministry” to help change lives and neighborhoods in the name of Christ. Good Samaritan accomplishes these efforts through its vision of forging a community alliance of neighborhood ministries in which churches work side by side with government, business, and non-profit agencies to ensure that every person’s needs are met.
