Description

The Good Samaritan Clinic (GSC) of Jackson County is an adult primary care free clinic located in the Jackson County Department of Public Health in Sylva, North Carolina. It is organized and run by a volunteer-based staff, serving persons-in-need between the ages of 18 and 65, who are ineligible for Medicaid, uninsured, with income below 175% of poverty level.
The GSC of Jackson County began providing care on February 20, 2001. It is a public, non- profit (501c3) organization governed by a volunteer board of directors, composed of citizens from communities in Jackson County. Financially, the GSC operates with the support of grants and donations. Medication expenses are the largest line item in the GSC budget. The GSC is fortunate to have strong collaborative relationships with other health and social service agencies in Jackson County.
