Established in 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is a cooperating association authorized by Congress to support and assist the National Park Service in research, interpretation and conservation programs.

Since its inception in 1981, the Parks Conservancy has provided the National Park Service with nearly $80 million in aid and is recognized as one of the largest, most effective park partners in the country.
