Description
The Global Citizenship Program at Woonsocket High School is a year long program connecting WHS students with students in Kigali, Rwanda. WHS will collaborate with a diverse collective of community and educational partners to provide unparalleled real-world educational opportunities to Woonsocket students. Highly Qualified Teachers will lead students to investigate critical global issues through rigorous, standards-based out-of-school instruction, independent research, community service learning, and cross-cultural exploration. Students will be trained as ambassadors of education, equipped with the skills to share their knowledge throughout the school and the greater community through outreach, presentations, and peer mentorship, ensuring a lasting and far-reaching impact. The center piece of the program is a travel study to Rwanda, where students will engage in 3 weeks of service learning projects and community building.
