Our council serves 14,000 girls and 3,500 adult members within 36 communicites in the Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.
Much of our money goes to our Community Outreach Programs which were developed to reach at-risk girls in K-12th grades who are low-income, underserved and live within its two county jurisdiction. Some of those programs are:
- STEM "Science, Technology, Engineering and Math" Program, works in partnership with parents, educators, community leaders and local universities to provide girls with the opportunity to explore math, science and engineering while developing self-esteem in a safe environment.
- "OpportuniTeens Program,” which provides girls educational and enriching learning opportunities including SAT preparation and college application assistnance.
- "Girl Scouts Beyond Bars Program," helps girls learn about coping and life skills to reduce the trauma of mother/daughter separation and help break the generational cycle of criminal behavior.
