Girl Scouts is the world’s pre-eminent organization dedicated solely to girls – all girls – where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, they build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnerships with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them for all their lives – like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is the largest voluntary organization for girls in the world. Today there are 3.9 million girl members and 963,000 adult members nationwide. Girl Scout Council of Bergen County (GSCBC) joins more than 300 local Girl Scout Councils across the nation in helping today’s girls become tomorrow’s leaders.
