Description
We are a proactive grassroots non-profit organization fighting childhood obesity.
Our programs: Healthy Snacks & Building Tracks.
Healthy Snacks brings a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to children as they head out to recess. This once a week program is a collaboration with local growers, grocers and PTA/ PTO volunteers. The fruits/vegetables are delivered to the school, washed and placed in baskets, delivered to the classrooms prior to the children heading out to recess.
Building Tracks is our foremost program. In collaboration with local builders, school districts and volunteers 1/8- mile primary track and turf athletic fields are constructed at elementary schools. These facilities are created to give the youth of the community a safe and fun environment to increase their physical activity. During school hours, the students use the facility during their recess and in accordance with the state standards for physical education.
