Description
The Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center, Inc., provides dignified emergency assistance to community residents, regardless of age, race or creed, helps individuals to qualify for public assistance for their on-going basic needs and encourages individuals and the community as a group, to become self-sustaining to the best of their abilities. An average of 100 individuals come to the Outreach Center each week seeking assistance. Among the services are: interviewing and assessing the client’s situation, help with immigration issues, rent, heat, after school tutoring, summer camp for local children, assisting in discovering new resources, evaluation of what can be available for them at the Outreach and giving referrals to outside agencies and services that can meet the needs. There is a Clothing Bank and Food Pantry to provide for emergency needs.
