Georgian Society of Rutgers University

about

The Georgian Society (Gamma Sigma) is a historic coed student organization in the Rutgers-New Brunswick community. Founded in 1946, it has been lauded as a "workshop in democracy" in the Congressional Record--and commended by US presidents and first ladies--due to its principles of nondiscrimination and diversity. 19 Union Street, a historic New Brunswick house and the Georgian Society's beloved home, was damaged by fire in 2009, and the organization is raising money to finish its reconstruction.
