Description
The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy was founded in 1987 to provide support and hope for thousands of abused children across the state. GCCA’s mission is to champion the needs of sexually and severely physically abused children through prevention, intervention, therapy, and collaboration. This is accomplished by:
• Providing a safe, friendly place where children can end their silence by telling a trained therapist about the abuse during a forensic interview
• Offering free psychological treatment that helps children heal and provides them with hope for the future
• Coordinating public agencies, including the District Attorney, law enforcement, DFCS, etc., involved in the investigation of child sexual abuse
• Training one million adults across Georgia to recognize, respond to and prevent child sexual abuse through sexual abuse prevention training
