Description
The Carver School Building has been a physical pillar of the community since 1937. Dr. George Washington Carver came to Fulton in 1938 to dedicate the school named for him. No other such dedication by Dr. Carver is recorded.
The goals of the George Washington Carver Memorial, Inc is to protect the Carver School Building from further deterioration and preserve its and Dr. Carver's rich history for future generations and utilize the building once again for training the youth of the community.
Since the spring of 1989, the Carver Memorial has sponsored several community events:
May Fest, Musical Festivals, Harvest Festivals, Agricultural Week (Lincoln University),
Speakers Bureau, Awards Banquet and African/African-American Storytelling.
The George Washington Carver Memorial. Inc is on the National Register of Historic Places.
