Description

The Paralyzed Veterans of America's Gateway Chapter is one of 34 chapters nationwide. We use our unique expertise to ensure quality healthcare and provide programs that promote active lifestyles, expand opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for veterans and all people with spinal cord injury or disease. Our local chapter was chartered in the State of Missouri in October 1976. We are an A+ member of the St. Louis Better Business Bureau, have met all 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability, are on their Wise Giving Guide and have received their designation as an Honor Roll Charity. Our fiscal year 2011 audit shows that out of every dollar we spent, $.82 went to programs for our members. We still have some administrative costs like supplies and utilities, as well as costs for our fundraising efforts. We are governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who are veteran members of our organization. We pride ourselves on being good stewards of the funds we receive and appreciate your support.
