Mission Statement for Friends of Wood County CASA: The Friends of Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a non-profit organization which lends support to the Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad litem Program through fund raising, promoting public awareness, and monitoring fiscal and administrative needs of the organization.
Mission Statement for CASA/GAL Program: The mission of the Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocate/ Guardian ad litem Program is to recruit, train, guide, monitor and maintain CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates), who are appointed by the Wood County Juvenile Court Judge as Guardians ad Litem to represent the best interests of abused, neglected, and dependent children in court. CASA/GAL volunteers serve as an independent voice throughout the juvenile court proceedings, until a safe and permanent home is found for each child.
