The Friends is a totally volunteer-driven nonprofit whose exclusive beneficiary is the Norfolk Public Library in Norfolk, Massachusetts.

The objectives of The Friends (from our bylaws) are:
1. To raise funds to support the Library's resources and programs.
2. To encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library.
3. To advocate for a strong and active public library in Norfolk.
4. To support the freedom to read, as expressed in the American Library Association's Bill of Rights.
