Description
The mission of the Newberry County Guardian ad Litem Program is to recruit, train and supervise volunteers who are court-appointed to represent and advocate for the best interests of children in the child welfare system and in family court proceedings involving allegations of abuse and neglect. In October 2002 the Friends of Newberry County Guardian ad Litem was founded to assist volunteer by disbursing donated funds to empower the volunteers with more educational opportunities, providing vouchers for miles the volunteers have to travel and other expenses the volunteer incur while in the role of a Guardian ad Litem Volunteer.
