Educational group of concerned volunteers to help protect the Brown Bears populating the world famous McNeil River basin and surrounding areas in Alaska. This area is administered by the Alaska Division of Fish and Game, under the Guidance of the Board of Fish & Game. The area involved is the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary & Refuge. Our group helps protect the bears by educating the public about both the good and problematic situations affecting the bears and their habitat. We help coordinate legal and educational responses to threats to their habitat and persons, related to attempts to expand hunting and fishing by both private and public agencies. Our volunteers often help to improve base camp amenities , along with trail improvements and other essential services as defined by AK F&G.
