Description
FRIENDS of Cliff Asbury is a 501(c)(3) organization providing financial assistance beyond the scope of traditional scholarships for talented high school age students attending Virginia boarding schools.
There is no staff; only active board members. Outside of minimal expenses, all funds are received by the needy students. The board is an extension of Cliff's energies for needy youth in Virginia boarding schools, to continue his legacy of giving and his dream of supporting needy youth beyond his death in September 2001.
FRIENDS of Cliff Asbury has given 28 financial assistance grants to students in the following college preparatory schools in Virginia.
While traditional scholarships serve to open initial access to college preparatory schools for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, these students struggle because they can not afford items to meet basic needs.
