Description

A non-profit organization that raises money for children with cancer and Camp Adventure a one week sleep away camp for children with cancer and their siblings. We do this in memory of a very strong woman named Betsy who battled Leukemia for three years and lost that battle in August of 1993 at the age of 22. Betsy was a volunteer at Camp Adventure and was thankful that she had the opportunity to help plan a successful camp season. Betsy was also a volunteer member of our local fire department and loved helping her community.

The Friends of Betsy Toy Schowerer Foundation is dedicated to increasing public awareness regarding the statistics and research, the need for better treatment and prevention; and to forming a partnership with businesses, organizations and the medical profession to assist and support Long Island children and their families in their fight against childhood cancers.
