Description

FOL Auburn augments gov’t funding of the Auburn Library & provides programs for children and adults. Money we give annually is to add books & audio/visual material, provide funding for children's prgms & adult reading prgms, provide bus transport for area schools’ 5th grade visits to the library, give support to PALS. With add’l money from fundraising and donations, we provide non-recurring improvements: Replace the Reference & Circulation desks & all the tables and chairs for patrons in the main library; replace the tables, chairs, draperies, & carpeting in the Beecher Room (used by community for variety of purposes); purchase a vacuum cleaner for the Beecher Room; purchase benches for outside the library. We also provide community enrichment prgms for both adults & children - Reading in the Classroom during Children's Book Week, collection displays, art displays, NOON programs, bus trips to interesting places, sponsor a Summer Music series concert.
