Description

Friendly House was established in 1920 to assist new immigrants with acquiring literacy skills and citizenship. In the mid-60s, Friendly House broadened its focus to help others achieve success and independence. Today, it remains committed to offering quality programs in the areas of adult education, workforce development, family counseling, social services, parenting, home care for the elderly and disabled, immigration, and youth services. It also operates Academia del Pueblo Charter School. Annually, Friendly House serves more than 40,000 individuals.
