Description
Founded in 1946, Freedom from Hunger brings sustainable, self-help services to families living in absolute poverty. It's programs equip women with financial resources, such as micro-loans, and lifeskills training that enables them to improve their families' health, better feed their children and walk the path to self-reliance. The organization has programs in 17 of the world's poorest countries and focuses on rural areas where poverty and chronic hunger are at their worst. Freedom from Hunger's programs have been proven--through numerous rigorous studies--to improve family income, child nutrition, women's empowerment and family health.
