Description

The Freedom Center is a center for independent living in Frederick, MD that serves people with disabilities of all ages in Carroll and Frederick Counties. It is our mission to offer supports and services to empower people with disabilities to lead self-directed, independent, and productive lives in a barrier-free community. Our services include, but are not limited to, systems and individual advocacy, information and referral, peer counseling and independent living skills training. We also assist individuals to teach them how to be their own advocate and to know their civil and disability rights. We strive to promote the removal of physical and attitudinal barriers so that individuals who have disabilities can be fully integrated into their communities achieving their goals of independence with the same equal opportunities as those who do not have disabilities.
