There are 27 million people in slavery in the world today. Free the Slaves is the American organization dedictaed to ending slavery worldwide. We are the US sister-organization of Anti-Slavery International in the UK, the world's oldest and original human rights group, founded in 1787. Free the Slaves supports projects in India, Nepal, Ghana, Haiti and the US that liberate slaves and help them to achieve full lives and citizenship. We work with the government to expand its funding of anti-slavery work in the US and abroad, and with companies to help them remove slavery from the products we buy.
