Fredonia Humane Society

Fredonia Humane Society (FHS), a no-kill 501c3 nonprofit organization - has spent the past several years dedicated to helping control the rampant pet overpopulation on the northern Arizona Native American Reservation. Each month FHS volunteers visit the Gap, a small village where pets are collected for free spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchipping, after which they recuperate at the shelter and are delivered back the following week. Recently, this effort was acknowledged by Best Friends Animal Society (the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary) with a collaborative arrangement to provide services for a greater number of dogs.
