Description
The Franklin County Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation founded to prevent cruelty to animals, to educate the community about animal welfare, to maintain a foster care and adoption program, and to reduce future generations of unwanted companion animals by developing and maintaining a low cost spay/neuter program. We operate the Animal Harbor, the first and only animal shelter in Franklin County, Tennessee. Animal Harbor, which operates under a no-kill philosophy, can house between 24 and 30 dogs and about 40 cats comfortably at any one time. We have rehomed about 500 pets each year since we opened in January of 2003.
