Description
Frankie Lemmon School was the first preschool-kindergarten in Wake County specifically designed for children experiencing delays in development. Frankie Lemmon School is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community organization. The curriculum places special emphasis on communication skills and personal independence. All staff members utilize sign language and/or other augmentative communication systems as needed in conjunction with verbal language to guide the development of each child's language abilities.
Therapies are provided by licensed therapists and include speech, occupational, physical, hearing, and vision. Music therapy is provided weekly in each classroom.
Frankie Lemmon School serves as a placement for college and university students preparing for careers that focus on children and families.
