The Hospital was purchased in April of 1967, by the Jackson Park Hospital Fdn., changing the status of the Hospital to a not-for-profit community hospital for the primary purpose of the extension of medical services in the field of research, education, public health and community welfare.
Jackson Park Hospital has been continuously accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals since 1954, receiving its most recent accreditation February 2010 for three years. The hospital is licensed by the State of Illinois, Department of Public Health and the City of Chicago Board of Health.
Located in the inner-city, Jackson Park Hospital serves a high percentage of economically disadvantaged patients with mental health issues and advanced diseases.
Many youths within the community suffer from obesity, diabetes, asthma and other disorders.
