Description
Forum 35 originated in 1993 when the Baton Rouge Area Foundation allocated seed money to form a nonprofit organization for young men and women of our community. Beginning with only 40 people, Forum 35 would provide personal growth opportunities, encourage philanthropic interests and cultivate professional leadership to ultimately improve our city and its future generations of leaders. Forum 35 initiatives have included lighting the Mississippi River Bridge, Plan Baton Rouge, "We Are BR!" and our city's participation in the national Social Capital Survey.
Forum 35 contributes time and energy to a variety of projects and organizations. Our members, both past and present, represent some of the brightest young people in the community. Today, over 700 members strong, Forum 35 is working to better our schools, improve racial relationships and to strengthen community pride. As an organization we are dedicated to improving our community and cultivating the young leaders for the future.
