Description
For Love of Children focuses on providing opportunities for each child to achieve educational success as the most effective tool for breaking the cycle of poverty – through our ongoing tutoring, academic enrichment, educational counseling, scholarship support, leadership training, and experiential education programs.
A child with a dream is a child with a future, but too many children in Washington never achieve their dreams. Children who grow up amidst poverty are at the highest risk for academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, and juvenile crime. In D.C., 37% of children live in poverty, and 42% of students fail to graduate from high school.
For Love of Children’s mission is to provide young children and high-risk youth with the resources to achieve educational and personal success through a continuum of educational services that prepares them to become confident, life-long learners and contributing members of their communities
