Food Works at Two Rivers Center founded in 1986 to address the root causes of childhood hunger by returning students and their communities back to the land.
Our mission is to empower people to take control of the food they eat by cultivating sustainable food systems that are firmly rooted in each region's natural and cultural heritage.
This work involves: hands-on intergenerational education in food growing, nutrition basics, backyard herbs and ecological stewardship; ongoing agricultural and food product research and production; and community outreach linking farms, markets, schools, families, and elders.
Our program areas include:
* Food, Garden and Nutrition Education
* Foodbank Farm at Two Rivers Center
* Herbal Studies and Habitat Restoration
* Historic Preservation and Cultural Literacy
