Description
Registered non-profit group to restore the last stainless steel, 1st diesel electric, air conditioned, streamlined train built during the Great Depression in 1935. Upon completion of the restoration, the Flying Yankee will be certified by Amtrak, DOT, and the FRA to run any rail in the country. The Flying Yankee will be available for education and tourism. Operation Life Saver has provided 4 monitors to be used on the Flying Yankee for educational purposes. The Flying Yankee can be seen at the Hobo Railroad, Lincolon, NH where the Plymouth & Lincoln RR is providing the restoration.
