Florida Black Historical Research Project Inc.(FBHRP) has been in existence since 1996.Our mission is TO COLLECT RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATE SIGNIFICANT HISTORICAL CONTRIBUTIONS BLACKS HAVE MADE IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. FBHRP provides the general public with the facts about Black History, Black Pirates, the Second Seminole War(and the African Burial Mounds there), Black Seminoles of Florida, Maroons of Florida, The Southern Underground Railroad and the 1,000's of Blacks who existed in North America long before 1492. FBHRP offers sailing program to the inner-city youth (free of charge), Loxahatchee Battlefield Tours and has produced two books on these subjects. Our First book is "We R Florida" written by Isa Hamm Bryant, our Founding Father, telling of the Black side of the 2nd Seminole War, and another book that has yet to be published. FBHRP is a 501 c3 non-profit corporation that carries out summer activities free of charge to inner-city.
