Florence Crittenton Home & Services is a 113-year-old non-profit organization that provides effective intervention and prevention services to pregnant and parenting young women and their infants and toddlers, as well as parenting families and their children. We believe the most effective way to improve life outcomes is to provide very early intervention for young children and support, educate, and encourage their parents. Crittenton uses intervention strategies for those young parents struggling with barriers to providing care to their children – barriers such as trauma, substance abuse or histories of intergenerational abuse, neglect and poverty. For the infants and toddlers, Crittenton programs offer prevention of these traumas being passed down to the next generation.
Providing services to pregnant teens and their children does not just affect the lives of these two individuals, but the lives of their entire families for generations to come and the communities in which they live and work.
Strong, resilient families are the cornerstones of thriving communities. It is imperative that young women and their families who are courageous survivors of trauma and other challenges are able to access comprehensive supports and opportunities they deserve to heal, grow and build lives and families that contribute to the health of communities in which they live.
MISSION: To provide innovative, comprehensive services and nurturing programs that empower young, pregnant women and parenting families to thrive and build productive lives.
