Our commitment to this mission is evident with the extensive comprehensive educational restructuring that is occurring in our district. Our elementary teaching staff has completed a three-year training program following the researched-based model, High/Scope. Our middle school and high school teaching staff has completed a three-year program following the model, Expeditionary Learning/Outward Bound. Both research-based models emphasize active learning, with authentic, performance-based projects. This form of learning develops higher-level thinking skills where students understand the connections between learning and life. Instruction with these two educational reform models have been enhanced through a federal physical education grant providing Adventure Education programming with Project Adventure.
