Description

Floating Doctors is the world’s first globally mobile medical team to utilize a green energy platform—the expedition sailboat Southern Wind—to deliver medical relief to thousands of people in the most remote coastal areas of the world. Through preventative medicine and education, Floating Doctors will leave no carbon footprint, but only long lasting health benefits in her wake.

A dedicated crew on a 12-month medical relief voyage to the coast of Central America and the Eastern Pacific aboard their 76’ sailboat, the Southern Wind. The team will set up mobile tented medical clinics ashore, providing free healthcare and preventative medicine to developing world coastal communities.

In each country, Dr. La Brot and the crew will use a unique combination of traditional medicine and cutting-edge technology to provide preventative medicine and health education to over 15,000 patients, as well as coordinating a network of visiting physicians and medical students from around the world.
