Description
First Descents is committed to curing young adults of the emotional effects of cancer and empowering them to regain control of their lives by experiencing whitewater kayaking and other challenging adventure sports in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. We serve young adults with cancer between the ages of 18 and 39, anywhere in the world, and the unique psychosocial challenges they face that our outdoor adventure therapy programs can help them overcome. Our programs help them connect with others who understand them, restore confidence in themselves and their bodies, create an identity beyond the disease, and feel in control of their lives again.
