FMFM’s mission is to partner with farmers, consumers, and communities to help foster, enhance and sustain farmers' markets in Massachusetts in order to improve regional farm viability, consumer nutrition, and community support of agriculture.

We believe consumers should know the people who grow their food. We facilitate farmers’ access to consumers, as well as consumers’ access to fresh, high-quality, local produce and its health benefits. FMFM also partners with the state and federal government, as well as various community organizations and foundations, to facilitate low-income families’ access to local produce.

We help communities use farmers’ markets as tools for economic and social revitalization. We work to ensure that markets provide the optimum benefit to the farmers and other local businesses who sell there.

In short, we harness the power of farmers’ markets to create healthy communities across the state.
