Family Promise of Lubbock works with an interfaith network in Lubbock to assist families who are situationally (not chronically) homeless in obtaining sustainable housing. The program involves working with parents through budgeting classes, life skill coaching, parenting courses and job skill training. Parents are assisted in securing quality daycare for preschool children and in keeping school-age children in school. Participants are required to be employed or to search for jobs daily. They agree to save 90% of their income to pay off existing debts and to save to obtain housing and utilities.
